Local School Mulls Discipline for Racial Death Threats

GALESVILLE, WI (Ben Caxton) — Students at the Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau School District involved in making racially charged death threats to another student are facing new disciplinary actions by the district today. School officials reported held a meeting on Tuesday with local law enforcement who have been investigating the threats to discuss their options. A Galesville mom took to Facebook a week ago charging that some students at the Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau School District threatened to kill her son. She says they took photos of her son and posted it to social media along with derogatory racial terms and a threat to “shoot him in the head.” The district is hiring legal counsel and is looking to its disciplinary and athletic codes to decide how to discipline the students involved.
