LA CROSSE, WI (Ben Caxton) — Rep. Ron Kind is in the market for art. His office announced last Friday that the Congressman is now accepting submissions from high school students in Wisconsinâs Third Congressional District for the 24th Annual Congressional Art Competition. The first-place entry will hang for a year in the U.S. Capitol along with the works of other student artists from across the country, the second-place entry will be displayed in Rep. Kindâs Washington, D.C. office, and the third and four place pieces will be displayed in Kindâs La Crosse and Eau Claire offices. An exhibit featuring the art will be held at UW-La Crosse from March 26 through April 11 with a reception to recognize the students at the university’s gallery on Sunday, April 5 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM. All participants, their families, and teachers and are invited to attend. The deadline for submitting art to Kindâs office is 5:00 PM on Friday, March 6th.
