City Halls, Chambers, & Playgrounds Close for Pandemic Panic

PLATTEVILLE, WI (Ben Caxton) — Platteville is joining Prairie du Chien and other southwest Wisconsin cities in shutting down access to government buildings. The Platteville City Hall closed its doors to the public until further notice at the close of business yesterday to help protect patrons and staff from spreading the COVID-19 virus. In Platteville and Dyersville Chamber of Commerce offices announced they will be closing temporarily. And, State of Wisconsin officials have banned access to public playground equipment, and contact sports, such as basketball, soccer or football on public property under a new yet another edict by Governor Tony Evers. The state says residents still can use the parks for solo recreational activities, such as walking, hiking, flying kites or biking.
