LA CROSSE, WI (652 PM CDT Sat Mar 28 2020) — The National Weather Service in La Crosse has issued a Tornado Warning for Western Clayton County in northeastern Iowa until 745 PM CDT. At 652 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Arlington, or 12 miles southwest of Elkader, moving northeast at 45 mph. HAZARD: Tornado and quarter size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated rotation. Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. This dangerous storm will be near Elkader around 710 PM CDT. Farmersburg around 720 PM CDT. McGregor around 730 PM CDT. Marquette around 735 PM CDT. Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Spook Cave Campground, Mederville, Giard, Highway 13 And County C 24, National, Pikes Peak State Park and Osborne. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
