Tornado Warning for Delaware County IA and 1 More

QUAD CITIES IA, QUAD CITIES IA/IL (653 PM CDT Sat Mar 28 2020) — The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued a Tornado Warning for Eastern Buchanan County in northeastern Iowa Delaware County in northeastern Iowa until 745 PM CDT. At 652 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing a tornado were located along a line extending from near Independence to Walker, moving northeast at 40 mph. HAZARD: Tornado. SOURCE: Radar indicated rotation. Spotters indicated a funnel cloud near Independence. Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. These dangerous storms will be near Winthrop and Stanley around 700 PM CDT. Aurora around 705 PM CDT. Lamont around 710 PM CDT. Dundee and Masonville around 715 PM CDT. Ryan around 720 PM CDT. Manchester, Edgewood, Delhi and Greeley around 730 PM CDT. Delaware and Oneida around 735 PM CDT. Earlville around 740 PM CDT. Other locations impacted by these tornadic storms include Winthrop Golf Course, Robinson, Delaware County Fairgrounds, Manchester Airport, Oneida, Monti, Coffins Grove Park, Twin Bridges Park, Buck Creek and Baileys Ford Park. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
