Tornado Warning for Dubuque County IA and 2 More

QUAD CITIES IA, QUAD CITIES IA/IL (749 PM CDT Sat Mar 28 2020) — The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued a Tornado Warning for Western Dubuque County in northeastern Iowa North central Jones County in east central Iowa Southeastern Delaware County in northeastern Iowa until 815 PM CDT. At 749 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Monticello, or 12 miles northeast of Anamosa, moving northeast at 45 mph. HAZARD: Tornado. SOURCE: Radar indicated rotation. Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. This dangerous storm will be near Worthington around 800 PM CDT. Epworth and Farley around 810 PM CDT. Dubuque, Peosta, Holy Cross, Rickardsville, Centralia and Bankston around 815 PM CDT. Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Waupeton, Lattnerville, Graf, Five Points, East Rickardsville, Bankston Park, Mud Lake Park, Cottage Hill, Finley’s Landing Park and Camp Little Cloud. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
