$24m Emergency State Fair Park Hospital Sits Empty

MADISON, WI (Ben Caxton) — A temporary coronavirus hospital at State Fair Park that cost $24 million to build is sitting empty. `So far, none of the 600 beds that were added as an insurance policy against the coronavirus is being used, and most of the people tapped to staff the hospital are idle. Still, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett says it’s better to have the empty hospital and not need it than need it and not have it. FEMA paid 24-million dollars to build the temporary hospital. `
