Preventative Testing at Long Term Care Facility Today

PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, WI (Ben Caxton) — The Wisconsin National Guard’s Specimen Collection Unit will be at 720 South Fremont Street in the city of Prairie du Chien Wisconsin, today. They will be testing all employees and residents of Community Health Services Corporation aka Prairie Maison Nursing Home and Bluff Haven Assisted Living. There are NO active cases at this facility at this time. This is a preventative measure that prompted by Community Health Services Corporation to contact the Crawford County Emergency Management to request the Wisconsin National Guard to test the facility as per CDC guidance. The county is asking the public to stay away from the area of South Fremont Street unless you have essential business there. Prairie du Chien Police Department will be supplying traffic control for this event. There will be a media briefing at 11 am near the entrance to the facility, located at the intersection of South Fremont Street and East Taylor Street. This area will be marked off for media only. At the media briefing, there will be representatives of Crawford County, Community Health Services Corporation, and the Wisconsin National Guard. There will be time available after statements are issued for questions.
