Grant County Board Approves Contract Covering 23 Deputies

LANCASTER, WI (Ben Caxton) — The Grant County Board of Supervisors has approved a new contract with the Wisconsin Professional Police Association covering 23 deputies with the Grant County Sheriff’s Department. The tentative agreement was approved by a unanimous voice vote during last week’s board meeting. According to the County Personnel Director Joyce Roling, the contract was approved by WPPA members before it was submitted to the county board. The two-year deal would give deputies a 1% pay increase retroactive to January 1st, another 1% pay hike July 1st, and 1% pay increases January 1st and July 1st, 2021. It also calls for adding a four-year step at a rate between the fifth and third year of experience. Roling told supervisors the fiscal impact of the tentative agreement would be $21,000 this year, and another $28,000 next year.
