Oneida County Health Officer Doesn’t Endorse Permit

ONEIDA NATION, WI (Ben Caxton) — Oneida County’s Health Officer doesn’t endorse the decision to move forward with Hodag Country Festival. `Linda Conlon said she has no independent authority as the Health Officer of Oneida County to stop the Hodag Country Festival, and she wants everyone to know that the decision to issue a permit for the festival was not something she could control. The county’s public safety committee voted 4-1 to issue the permit on Tuesday, with more than two dozen conditions including limited attendance and a refund process for those not comfortable attending this year’s event. As it stands the annual four-day country music show is one of the only large gatherings scheduled to take place in northern Wisconsin this summer, Cadott’s Country fest and Rock Fest have both been canceled.
