Thunderstorm Warning for Delaware County IA and 1 More

QUAD CITIES IA, QUAD CITIES IA/IL (1238 AM CDT Fri Jun 5 2020) — The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Northeastern Buchanan County in northeastern Iowa Northwestern Delaware County in northeastern Iowa until 130 AM CDT. At 1237 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Stanley, or near Oelwein, moving southeast at 20 mph. HAZARD: 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Winthrop, Hazleton, Lamont, Aurora, Dundee, Stanley, Winthrop Golf Course, Backbone State Park, Jakway Park, Fontana County Park and Fontana Park. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
