Flash Flood Warning for Fayette County IA

LA CROSSE, WI (703 PM CDT Tue Jun 9 2020) — The National Weather Service in La Crosse has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Eastern Fayette County in northeastern Iowa until 900 PM CDT. At 701 PM CDT, emergency management reported road closures in and around the city of Fayette. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD: Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE: Emergency management. Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying areas. Some locations that will experience flooding include West Union, Fayette, Elgin, Clermont, Arlington, Stanley, Wadena, Eldorado. Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
