Thunderstorm Warning for Olmsted County MN and 2 More

LA CROSSE, WI (543 PM CDT Sun Jun 28 2020) — The National Weather Service in La Crosse has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for South central Olmsted County in southeastern Minnesota Northeastern Mower County in southeastern Minnesota Northwestern Fillmore County in southeastern Minnesota until 630 PM CDT. At 542 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Grand Meadow, or 13 miles east of Austin, moving northeast at 25 mph. HAZARD: Ping pong ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE: Radar indicated. People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. This severe thunderstorm will be near Grand Meadow around 600 PM CDT. Spring Valley around 615 PM CDT. Other locations impacted by this severe thunderstorm include I 90 Exit 209, Highways 63 And 16, Hamilton, I 90 Exit 193, High Forest, I 90 Exit 205 and Dexter. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for southeastern Minnesota. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
