Thunderstorm Warning for Delaware County IA and 1 More

QUAD CITIES IA, QUAD CITIES IA/IL (917 AM CDT Sat Jul 11 2020) — The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Buchanan County in northeastern Iowa Western Delaware County in northeastern Iowa until 1015 AM CDT. At 916 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Arlington to Oelwein to near Fairbank, moving southeast at 45 mph. HAZARD: 70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include Independence, Manchester, Jesup, Fairbank, Winthrop, Hazleton, Quasqueton, Lamont, Ryan, Brandon, Rowley, Aurora, Dundee, Masonville, Stanley, Wapsipinicon Golf Course, Manchester Airport, Fontana County Park, Monti and Buck Creek. This includes Interstate 380 between mile markers 49 and 55. Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside should move immediately to shelter inside a strong building. Stay away from windows.
