Thunderstorm Warning for Delaware County IA and 3 More

QUAD CITIES IA, QUAD CITIES IA/IL (427 PM CDT Fri Aug 28 2020) — The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for West central Jackson County in east central Iowa Southwestern Dubuque County in northeastern Iowa Northern Jones County in east central Iowa Southeastern Delaware County in northeastern Iowa until 500 PM CDT. At 426 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Worthington to near Prairieburg, moving southeast at 35 mph. HAZARD: 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Monticello, Cascade, Hopkinton, Worthington, Jones County Fairgrounds, South Gary Owen, Fillmore, Garry Owen, Pictured Rocks Wildlife Area, Fillmore Recreation Area, Buck Creek, Camp Courageous, Scotch Grove, Temple Hill and Monticello Municipal Airport. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
