Thunderstorm Warning for Buchanan County IA and 1 More

QUAD CITIES IA, QUAD CITIES IA/IL (135 AM CDT Sun Sep 6 2020) — The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Southern Buchanan County in northeastern Iowa Southwestern Delaware County in northeastern Iowa until 230 AM CDT. At 135 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Independence, moving southeast at 25 mph. HAZARD: 60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Independence, Winthrop, Quasqueton, Ryan, Masonville, Monti, Buchanan County Fairgrounds, Winthrop Golf Course, Robinson and Independence Airport. Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside should move immediately to shelter inside a strong building. Stay away from windows. To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in the Quad Cities.
