Thunderstorm Warning for Linn County IA and 3 More

QUAD CITIES IA, QUAD CITIES IA/IL (428 AM CDT Sun Sep 6 2020) — The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Northern Cedar County in east central Iowa Jones County in east central Iowa South central Delaware County in northeastern Iowa Northeastern Linn County in east central Iowa until 515 AM CDT. At 428 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Prairieburg to near Robins, moving southeast at 45 mph. HAZARD: 60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Anamosa, Mechanicsville, Stanwood, Marion, Mount Vernon, Monticello, Robins, Center Point, Lisbon, Central City, Springville, Olin, Alburnett, Coggon, Wyoming, Oxford Junction, Ryan, Martelle, Onslow and Prairieburg. This includes Interstate 380 between mile markers 30 and 35. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
