Monroe County Sheriff Peter Quirin reports a motor vehicle crash that resulted in injuries to one party.

On August 24, 2013 at 4:30 PM the Monroe County 911 Communication Center received a call of a motor vehicle crash located on County Highway XX west of Kasota Rd. in the town of Wells.

A 2005 Dodge Ram Pickup truck pulling a utility trailer hauling a motorcycle was traveling west on County Highway XX when the driver Joshua Grobelch, 34, of Sparta drove onto the right ditch line while he was negotiating a curve. Grobelch over corrected and crossed County Highway XX and ended up losing control, spun around and ended up in the south ditch overturning one half time coming to rest on the driver’s side. Joshua was unable to get out of the truck without the help of the Sparta Area Fire District. Once freed from the truck, he was transported by Sparta Area Ambulance Service to Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse with non-life threatening injuries.

Assisting the Sheriff’s Department at the scene was the Sparta Area Fire District, Sparta Area Ambulance Service, and the Monroe County 911 Communication Center.

The crash remains under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department.
