48-year-old Reedstown man arrested for pot field near Soldiers Grove

In early August, Investigators with the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department opened an investigation into the illegal growing of marijuana on a vacant parcel of land in rural Soldiers Grove. Through the course of the investigation it was discovered that Jerry T. Alexander, age 48 of Reedstown was the person tending to the growing marijuana plants.

After further investigation the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant on Oct., 2 at Alexander’s residence at 712 W. Mill St. in the Village of Reedstown.

During the search of Alexander’s residence many items associated with the growing, harvesting, and processing of marijuana were found and seized. Also located was large amount of processed marijuana, numerous items of drug paraphernalia, and a firearm.

Alexander was arrested and taken to the Crawford County Jail where he faces charges of manufacturing marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, criminal trespass and felon in possession of a firearm.

Assisting the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department with the execution of the search warrant were members of the Prairie du Chien Police Department and the Vernon County Sheriff’s Department.
